There is always something going on in Ueno Park on the weekends, and last weekend, we happened onto the Satsuki Festival. This festival is dedicated to Bonsai of the Satsuki Azalea, the best of which were on public display. The blossoms on these elaborately trained little bonsais were truly stunning. If it hadn’t been for some fallen flowers here and there, I would have almost thought them to be too perfect to be real. I will not further betray my ignorance of the art of bonsai growing. I can only imagine the time and care that was needed to achieve these results. I enjoyed looking at these beautiful plants and will just confine myself to sharing a few pictures here.
