
Last week, we were so busy with our conference, that we only got home when the lights of our aquarium were already off.
Imagine our surprise when on Saturday, I suddenly found more fishes swimming around! Our Anomalochromis thomasi, commonly also called African Butterfly Cichlid, had had babies! We counted five small fishes (which is not a lot, I guess they need more practice), which, I have to admit to our shame, are so big that they must be several weeks old already. I suppose that before last week, they had not been allowed to leave their hideaway behind a big root. What more can I say than Congratulations to the proud parents! We expect more to come……
